The Pendulum

Semi-Automatic Weapons Chapter 5:

A pendulum is introduced. A deck of cards is shuffled by a spectator. The deck is then taken under the table, and the spectator cuts off a small packet of cards and secretly counts the number of the cards. That packet is given to another spectator so that they also know the secret number. The spectator looks at the card in the deck at the number they have remembered. The original packet is put back on top of the deck, and the cards are cut a number of times. The magician divides the deck into two packets, and the magician uses the power of the pendulum to divine which packet the selected card is in. The remaining packet is divided between the two spectators, who then shuffle their packets. The deck is divided again, and the magician uses the power of the pendulum to divine which packet the selected card is in. This continues until there is only one card, and impossibly that is the selected card. Dani is joined by two of his close friends and students for a session on the incredible principles at play in this Semi-Automatic Miracle.

The Multiplication Principle

What will he teach?

Larry's Foolproof Intuition- Several envelopes are fully examined and spectators are asked to think of cities around the world. The magician writes them down and leaves them on the table, then makes a prediction. Each paper is put in separate envelopes chosen by a spectator. The envelopes are mixed and the spectator chooses an envelope at random. When he takes the paper out, the city on the paper matches the prediction and the envelopes can be examined again.

Numbering to Destiny- A freely thought number coincides with the sum of several numbers chosen by other spectators, also freely chosen. Then the number is part of the serial number of the ticket that the spectator has in his hand from the beginning.

The Magician's Dream- One deck is mixed and examined by a spectator. They freely choose a number and another spectator draws a card. The position is counted and the drawn card is in the same place that the spectator chose freely.

Cards Across- Three cards travel and return in an impossible way.

In addition, a prediction from the beginning coincides with the number of cards the spectators freely chose.

Four playing cards have giant holes appear in them, and then those four holes transform into stickers. This is the Incredible Appearing Nothing by Christophe Fouquet.

Here’s what happens:

The magician introduces four red-backed playing cards. After showing them to be apparently ordinary cards, the magician introduces the concept of making nothing appear. The cards are counted again and suddenly one of them has a giant hole in the middle of it. The hole is nearly the entire width of the card, and there’s no way it could have been hidden. The hole is also proven to be real, and multiple surfaces can be seen through it. The card is fairly dealt to the table. The remaining three cards are counted and a second hole appears. This one is also real! A third and fourth hole appear in the respective cards, all of which are placed openly on the table. The cards are then stacked up and the magician comments about how conceptually, making nothing appear is very difficult. What’s much easier is to make something appear that looks like nothing. SHORT CHANGE PLUS is an ideal routine for close up magic. The magician tells a little story about a problem he had with money when paying for a dinner. During the story various funny situations with magical effects occur and everything ends with a surprising ending.

This is an easy trick to do and can be reset in an instant to do it again. Here he left a summary of the story:

"I am going to tell you a funny little story that happened to me in a hotel restaurant when paying for dinner.

When I ask the waiter for the bill, he tells me that the total is $50, so I took my money and counted $50 on the table, and I also counted $4 asa tip for the waiter.

The waiter takes the $50 but when I recount the bills he clearly counts$45 and tells me that $5 is missing.

Surprised I took the money and counted it again about the table slowly and I counted $50, but the waiter insisted that there is $45 and that there is$5 missing.

At this point we called the manager of the restaurant to come and count the money as if to end the argument, but the manager takes the money and when we count it on the table he slowly and clearly counts only $40 and tells me that it is actually $10 to go to$50.

At this point I told the manager that I didn't want any more trouble and told him that I was going to go to the hotel room to look for the $10 that is missing, but the manager of the restaurant told me that in reality, I not only had to pay the $50 for dinner but also had to pay $350 for all the dinners of the week that were missing and that the total debt is $400.

At that moment I took all the money that was on the table along with the waiter's tip and looking at the manager with a smile I told him to pay attention because I was going to solve this problem magically and I blew on the bills that I had in my hands.

And now, I clearly counted on the table, first the $4 tip from the waiter and now incredibly the other bills had magically turned into 4 $100 bills so I was able to pay the $400 bill!!!!.
