Johnny Thompson – Classic Coin Magic

“The material contained in these tapes is made up of classic effects which have stood the test of time and performance and therefore can truly be deemed commercial. They are effects that I’ve successfully used throughout my career and, in most instances, the moves, routines and handlings were garnered directly from the authors. It is, in my estimation, some of the best close-up, parlor, walk-around and stage magic that has ever been developed and the authors are a virtual Who’s Who of magic that run the gamut from Allerton to Zarrow, wth a great deal of Vernon in between. I sincerely hope that you will enjoy learning and performing these wonderful Commercial Classics as much as I have.” -Johnny Thompson

Derek Dingle – Routined Coin And Card Magic

Derek Dingle has been one of the most influential close-up magicians of the 20th century. He created many outstanding routines that are in use by the leading professionals in our field. He went from an outstanding amateur to a successful professional and on this DVD you get to see him perform and explain the routines that he regularly used in his professional career.
The DVD begins with a live lecture, taped in Sacramento, California in 1998, where he performed and explained his favorite routines.

Routines performed and explained:

The Derek Dingle Fabulous Jumping Card Trick: Derek’s handling for Edward Victor’s Eleven Card Trick where the spectator deals eleven cards into your hand but each time you count the cards you only have ten. This is repeated with cards added to the packet and taken away but the total is never as it should be.

New Wave Cigarette Through Quarter: A repeat cigarette through quarter routine like no other. After penetrating the center of a borrowed quarter with a cigarette you confess that you switched coins and then you repeat the sequence with the “real” quarter.

Silver Quick: A clean coins across routine where four coins vanish from your hand and appear on the spectator’s palm and in her clenched fist.

Joshua Jay – At the Table Live Lecture 2

You’ve seen him on The Today Show, Good Morning America, and even on Penn & Teller’s Fool Us. That’s right, Joshua Jay is back from a whirlwind of televised appearances for his second At The Table Lecture. The first time he was here, Josh teased us with a routine that fooled Penn and Teller — and now he finally reveals the method! As an author of thirteen books on magic, Josh has designed this lecture to not only teach seven amazing tricks in that unique style that only Joshua Jay can deliver, but also serves an extensive lesson on method and practicality. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned professional, there will be something for you with Joshua Jay At The Table. Here’s what Josh will be teaching:

Signs: A freely-chosen and unseen card is hidden by the spectator. Using three cards in the deck, Josh is somehow able to divine the card’s color, value, and suit.

Double Thought: Both the magician and spectator think of a card, and using only the power of intuition, they are both able to pull out the other’s selection from a deck of cards.

Weighing Across: If you cross the “Weight Guess” carnival game with the “Cards Across” plot and mix in a pinch of awesomeness, this is the clever routine you’d get. In this multi-phase effect, not only is Josh able to correctly guess how many cards a spectator is sitting on by height, or how many cards are placed in a bag by weight, but he is also able to magically move cards from the pile under the spectator’s butt into the pile in the second spectator’s bag!

Out of Sight: This is the trick that fooled Penn and Teller, and Josh finally reveals his method to this amazing trick. Completely blindfolded, Josh is able to find a freely thought of card in a deck. But more impressively, the rest of the entire deck turns out to be completely blank!
