Marcelo Insua – Penguin Live Lecture 3
Marcelo Insúa, also known as Mr. Tango, is a full entertainment magician, creator, lecturer and consultant of magic and mentalism. He won the Invention Award in the FISM 2012.
He is the founder and owner of the famous Bar Mágico of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he performs every week on close up and parlor stages.
He is also the founder of the prestigious factory of gaffed coins and magic products Tango Magic.
As a lecturer, he has traveled around 30 different countries sharing his inventions, the most famous are:
T.U.C, this coin allowed him to win the FISM prize, considered the best gaffed coin ever.
Shared Dreams: a modern new way to perform the famous confabulation effect.

Hanson Chien – Penguin Live
Hanson Chien is a full-time performer, creator, and consultant of TV shows, movies and other famous magicians.
At 19, Hanson released his first magic DVD “Touch”, and has been causing a storm in the magic society. Many of his creations have already been performed on TV, and Hiro Sakai (a.k.a. famous Dr. Leon from Japan) also commented the rubber band magic “Touch” would become one of the classics, like Crazy Man’s Handcuffs.
He is also the first Taiwanese magician whose product got released by some top magic companies. Therefore, he is considered one of the pioneer creators in Taiwan’s magic society.
Hanson worked as a consultant for celebrity magician YIF in China. In 2015 he was also featured in YIF’s “Art of Magic” Season 2, and that single episode has more the 10 million views! That video showed his unique way of rubber band magic and stunned every viewers, especially “Band Jumping 4 times (BJ4)” and “Freeze!”. These tricks are so popular that many people shot their own versions and shared them on the internet.
Penguin Live Lecture – Lennart Green
Lennart Green is one of the most innovative magicians ever. His approach to magic with cards is so unique and surprising that when other magicians first witnessed his performances, they could not even begin to fathom what techniques were at play. In fact, many knowledgeable experts were so baffled, they couldn’t believe that Lennart was using a normal deck of cards!
By now, you’ve probably heard the story of his erroneous disqualification from the 1988 FISM Card Magic competition, but it bears repetition. Some of the judges thought his effects were so impossible they could only have been accomplished with gimmicked cards or the use of stooges! So, the next time the competition was held, in 1991, Lennart allowed only the judges to handle and shuffle the cards, AND he gave them the deck at the end of the performance. Of course it was a normal deck of cards, so he won First Prize, and a living legend was born!

Johnny Thompson:
Within the magician community, Johnn Thompson is considered a virtuoso, widely known as a mentor and teacher of magic, and a creator of tricks, as opposed to simply a performer.
As a magical consultant and illusion designer he has written, developed and provided material for magicians Siegfried and Roy, Penn and Teller, Doug Henning, Lance Burton, Criss Angel and David Blaine. As theatrical special effects designer and consultant he has invented and presented a variety of unique optical illusions for trade shows, industrial shows, theme parks, musicals and plays. Bush Garden’s Williamsburg production of “The Ghost of the Globe,” a Shakespearean fantasy with over thirty-five unique special effects, was Thompson’s initial venture into theme park attractions. Many of his original optical illusions and special effects techniques have been featured in theme parks, The Smithsonian Institute, Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry and hundreds of trade shows, including the White House Conference on “The Industrial World Ahead Congress.”
In 1999, he was awarded one of the highest honors in the magician community, a Masters Fellowship with the Academy of Magical Arts.
Paul Vigil:
Paul is known as one of the most discriminating magicians / mentalist in the world.
He has been practicing the art of magic since the age of 5, and 10 years later Paul under took the challenge of becoming a professional performer. Within a further year Paul had become one of the most in demand performers in his native Salt Lake City.
The center of magic, Las Vegas, soon called for Paul to join the ranks of the industries leaders and in 2002 Paul moved to Las Vegas, soon to establish himself as one of the finest performers the city has to offer.
Rick Maue:
Rick’s interest in magic started when he was five years old.
He began working on Séances in early 1976, in preparation for a two hour Houdini Séance on the 50th anniversary of his death. Since then, has created/performed in well over a thousand séances.
Following a few decades of creating and performing a combination of magic, mentalism, and Haunted Magick, Rick began releasing material such as “Haunted Magick” and “Deceptions” to the magic community through Deceptions Unlimited, which he owns along with his wife Tammy. Rick released his first full-size book in 2000 entitled “The Book Of Haunted Magick”, which has sold in over 30 countries.

Lee Earle – Penguin Live Act
Depending upon your point of view, Lee Earle is either Mentalism’s Johnny Appleseed, Pied Piper or Don Quixote. Lee refuses to applaud mediocrity. He rails at it. In his earlier magical incarnation, he convinced the Arizona driver licensing authorities that his middle name was the “Five of Spades” so that he could include it on his license and use it for card revelations. Lee has the temerity to comment on the magic condition without apology. To some, Lee reminds of a red-headed Max Maven or a beardless Eugene Burger. Each would be offended by the comparisons.
Intelligent, quick of wit and facile of tongue, Lee preaches his gospel of the moment to anyone within earshot. His distinctive Woody Woodpecker laugh and crackling voice seldom need amplification. Many throughout the world who have heard Lee’s staccato presentations, delivered with the evangelistic fervor of a recent convert, have traded their magic props for the simpler impedimenta of the seemingly propless mentalist. Others have shaken their heads and returned to the familiar platform comfort of chrome and flock. But few are untouched in some way by this energetic advocate.
Luis Carreon – Penguin Live Lecture 2
Magician and mentalist Luis Carreon won the Harlan Tarbell Close up Competition Award from the International Brotherhood of Magicians 2 years in a row, took home 1st place at the Chicago Magic Competition hosted by the Society of American Magicians, he travels the country teaching other magicians about the art of magic and he is the head demonstrator at Magic Inc, the oldest family-owned magic shop in the country. Carreon has performed his show Bending Minds and Bending Dreams at theaters around Chicago, has been featured on the Univision evening news, was semi-finalist on Tengo Talento, the Spanish language equivalent of America’s Got Talent, he is also a regular performer at the famous Magic castle In Hollywood California.
