The Dead Man's Hand is a famous hand of poker that Wild Bill Hickock held when Jack McCall gunned him down in Deadwood, SD. Hickok was playing five-card stud when McCall shot and killed him. He was holding two pairs: black aces and black eights. Lost to history is the suit and value of that 5th card, but that mystery works to your benefit for an entertaining card effect.
The primary effect is you show the Dead Man's Hand, the Aces, and 8s facing up. One card is facing down. The spectator guesses what the 5th card is. The manuscript describes three different methods for revealing the 5th card, including one suitable for platform or stage.
You will learn three methods, and no sleight-of-hand or equivoque is required!

Water Ball:
A weird science “experiment” where a spectator drops a special blue ball into the open bottle of water. The ball slowly sinks down through the water. You turn the bottle mouth down…the blue ball slowly sinks down again…and finally drops out of the bottle…somehow leaving the water suspended! This cool visual is also a brilliant convincer that nothing is secretly blocking the water.

Dr Rhine devised an experiment back in the early 1900’s to test for the existence of Extra Sensory Perception (ESP). He created five symbols, the Circle, Cross, Triangle, Square and Wavy Lines. You remove ten cards from a plastic wallet, five of which you pass to your spectator. Ask him to shuffle them face down as you do the same with your packet. You both exchange one card, which is then turned face up and inserted into the face down packet of cards. This is all done behind your back, so that no one knows what the exchanged cards are. You spread both the packets and the SAME symbol is the only card face up! You then state that you made a prediction beforehand, and when you turn the plastic wallet over, it’s also the SAME symbol! You state that this shows that you and the spectator have psychic abilities. The spectator a little sceptical, thinks that all of the cards are the same, but when they are turned over, they are actually all completely BLANK!
In this incredible packet Trick the theme is 3 card Monte but in this case we have four cards.
First we have 3 black cards and one red card to follow, immediately we have a change: one black and three red cards.
The spectator tries to follow the black card but eventually all the cards inevitably change into four Jokers.
