CONTENTS AND CONTRIBUTORS:

  • THE FIRST HOTEL MYSTERY (Nick Trost): Two Queens are placed side by side and four Kings are added to each Queen to form two three-card packets. At the end, the Queens and the Kings are found in separate piles.
  • ALTERNATING CURRENT (Norman Houghton): Four cards are placed face down and four face-up cards are placed on top. The cards magically alternate: Face up and face down.
  • DAZZLER MARK ONE MILLION (Paul Gordon): Some cards are shuffled face up and face down and six cards are remembered by the spectators. These cards at the end are the only ones remaining face up capturing five cards: A Royal Flush.
  • AUTO GAMBLER (Karl Fulves): A four-of-a-kind is found from a shuffled packet of cards. Easy to do and stunning.
  • OVER UNDER SPELL (Jack Avis): The four Jacks are lost in a packet of twelve cards and they are found one by one with a surprise ending.
  • THE PEAK (Aldo Colombini): The four Queens and the four Kings are shuffled together but the spectators manage to reunite each ‘couple’ (Spades with Spades, Hearts with Hearts, etc.).
  • NAME IT (Joe Riding): From a packet of ten cards you reveal a freely selected one.
  • THREE TO TWO POKER (Howard Adams): A strange Poker game. Two spectators select three cards each leaving you with two cards. Still, you have the highest hand.
  • BLACK SEPTEMBER (Peter Duffie): Two red Kings with a red Ace between them and two black Kings with a black Ace between them. The two selected Kings rise magically from bottom to top and at the end the two Aces switch their positions.
  • BOP ACES (Max Maven): An elaboration on Peter Kane’s “Jazz Aces” where the Aces switch positions with four indifferent cards.

Twisting

After the second reversal, Gödel is employed to complete the routine in the most striking way possible. As an added kicker, the once face up Kings are then changed into the four Aces.

Sandwich

After having two cards selected and lost in the pack, two black Jacks are waved above the deck only to have one of the selections appear between them. Both sides are shown throughout the effect, destroying any guess your spectator might have towards the method. With one final and extremely open wave, the selection between the Jacks changes to the other for an astonishing finish.

A SIMPLE COINCIDENCE: A spectator selects a card. You spread the deck to reveal a face-up Ten in the center. The spectator’s card is the other red Ten!

THE NINES FIRST: A card is selected. A second card is chosen and both turn out to be Nines.. A packet of cards contains exactly nine cards and the last card is a Nine and this card finds the other Nine!

ACE STOP: Here is a quick, easy method of locating the four Aces in a magical manner!

AMBITIOUS DEUCE SANDWICH: A selected card is buried in the deck only to jump to the top and land between the two red Deuces. This happens THREE times!

TEN-IN-A-ROW DOUBLE COINCIDENCE: This trick represents Trost at his best-and we think his best is hard to beat. The name says it all!

ROYAL RENDEZVOUS: This routine with court cards packs a three-way punch and there is no sleight of hand involved!

TRIUMPH ACE OPENER: The deck is cut and the two halves shuffled together, one face up and one face down. The deck is ribbon spread and all the cards are face down except the four Aces!

THE TELEPHONE NUMBER TRICK: This is a very simple method for performing the revelation of a spectator’s telephone number with cards!

THE OMEGA BET-UPDATED: A match or no match bet with cards with several climaxes; the last one occurs after a spectator shuffles the deck. Great routine!

    1. Cornered – An ingenious new concept that allows you to reveal a borrowed bill virtually anywhere! Borrow a dollar from a spectator, tear off a corner, and hand the little piece to him as a souvenir. The bill disappears. Ask him to remove his wallet. Ask him to reach inside. He’ll find his bill–complete with missing corner–and it matches! Absolutely no stooging or pre-show work.

 

    1. Elevation – This is the classic Elevator card trick reworked. Virtually no sleight of hand and a brand new ending nobody will expect!

 

    1. Big Deal – A card revelation with a fireworks ending. A card is selected and shuffled back into a deck. With a demonstration of cheating, the performer locates the selection… but he also manages to find a perfect blackjack hand, a Royal Flush, AND a perfect Bridge hand (all thirteen Hearts!).

 

    1. Credit Cash – Remove a credit card from you wallet and ask, “Do you guys prefer credit…or cash?” As you talk, the credit card between your hands visibly melts into a twenty-dollar bill.

 

    1. Impossible Three – A spectator cuts a borrowed, shuffled deck into three piles. She looks at the face card of one pile. Your back is turned throughout the process. In merely assembling the deck, you’ll ascertain the identity of the chosen card. This impossible card trick will fool even the most knowledgeable magicians.
