with money he earned from doing kids’ birthday party shows, he was presented with the dual opportunities of being accepted to both Ringling Bros. Clown College, and to Law School. Without hesitation, our hero chose the one that would better for his comedy career: Law School! But after graduating with a juris doctorate degree and taking the Bar exam, Robert never practiced law and proceeded on to a full time career in show business.
With his comedy magic act, he won both the 1st Prize in the National I.B.M. Gold Medal Stage Competition (Lance Burton handed him the trophy and Robert claims it still has his DNA on it!), followed the next year by a FISM trophy for Comedy in Madrid, Spain.

He’s been a working cowboy in Utah and lived with the tribal medicine man on the Navajo reservation. He has also been the stage manager for Alice Cooper and he’s opened for Aerosmith and Black Sabbath with his Film Noir Magic Show. For a while, in Phoenix, Docc ran a private palmistry office specializing in exotic dancers. Plus, he earned a Doctorate of Divinity from the University of New Mexico. For a few years, he had a small psychic church in Florida which offered authentic, camp-style spiritual seances.

Jack has four great passions: his brilliant family, composing music and lyrics, mental magic, and the ocean! He always lives by or on the water and was a Naval Officer for over a decade. His mom wanted her son to appreciate music, so she implored her father-in-law to buy the family a piano. She played it religiously throughout the pregnancy. It worked! At 4, John (later Jack) began lessons.
At 9, a friend took him to Bert Wheeler’s Hollywood Magic. He was mesmerized by a cut rope that magically restored itself and tiny sponges that jumped from one mini cup to another! For his 11th birthday, he got volume one of the famous Tarbell Course and devoured it! More than magic, he learned stagecraft, lighting, how to routine and what makes good theatre. (He even made gimmicks from tin cans to earn his Ben Chavez College of Magic tuition!)
